1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sentinel platform, website, or any associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Sentinel ("we," "us," or "our").

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, waitlist members, subscribers, and citizen partners. By submitting your information to our waitlist, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Sentinel is an information, data-collection, and community platform designed to help individuals living near golf courses and similar environments track potential pesticide exposure, understand associated health risks, and connect with legal and research resources. The Service includes:

• Personal exposure logging and health timeline tools
• Golf course proximity risk scoring
• Research digests and educational content
• Citizen science tools including test kits and sampling protocols (paid tiers)
• Legal-grade exposure reports and attorney referrals (paid tiers)
• Community cohort participation and revenue share eligibility (Guardian tier)

The Service is currently in a pilot phase. Features, pricing, and availability may change without notice.

3. Not Medical Advice

Sentinel is not a medical device, clinical service, or healthcare provider. Nothing on the platform constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All health-related information is provided for educational and informational purposes only.

You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any health-related decisions. Sentinel's risk scores, health timelines, and exposure logs are estimates based on available data and should not be used as the basis for medical decisions. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information you have received through Sentinel.

Sentinel does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent Parkinson's disease or any other medical condition.

4. Not Legal Advice

Sentinel does not provide legal advice. Legal-grade exposure reports, attorney referrals, and any other legal-adjacent features are provided as informational tools only. The existence of a report does not imply the existence of a legal claim, nor does it guarantee any legal outcome.

Attorney referrals provided through Sentinel do not create an attorney-client relationship. You should consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction before taking any legal action. Sentinel makes no representations regarding the likelihood of success in any legal proceeding.

5. Data Collection & Use

By using Sentinel, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Key principles:

• We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties
• Anonymised, aggregated data may be used for research purposes with your consent
• You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected]
• Health and location data is treated with the highest level of care and is never shared without explicit consent

Data accuracy: Sentinel aggregates data from publicly available sources and user submissions. We cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of all data. Pesticide application records and proximity calculations are estimates.

6. Citizen Science Programme

The Citizen Science Programme (available in the Measure tier and above) allows users to conduct environmental sampling using Sentinel-provided test kits and protocols. By participating, you agree that:

• You will follow the provided sampling protocols carefully
• Results are for informational purposes and may not be used as standalone legal evidence without further verification
• Sentinel may use your anonymised, consented data to contribute to research and legal cases
• Participation does not guarantee inclusion in any legal action or research publication
• Test kits are shipped to the address provided at signup; Sentinel is not responsible for delays or damage in transit

7. Revenue Share & Outcomes

Guardian tier members may be eligible for revenue share participation where permitted by law. This is an aspirational programme and no specific financial outcome is guaranteed.

Revenue share eligibility depends on: (a) the legal jurisdiction in which any case is brought; (b) the nature and outcome of any legal proceedings; (c) your level of participation and data contribution; and (d) applicable laws and regulations. Sentinel will communicate the specific terms of any revenue share arrangement in writing before any distribution occurs.

Participation in the Guardian tier does not create any contractual right to financial compensation.

8. Referral Programme

Sentinel's referral programme allows members to earn free subscription time by referring new paying members. Terms:

• Referral rewards are applied after the referred member completes their first paid billing cycle
• Referral links are non-transferable and may not be sold or traded
• Sentinel reserves the right to modify or discontinue the referral programme at any time
• Fraudulent referrals (e.g., self-referrals, fake accounts) will result in account termination
• Referral rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Sentinel platform — including text, graphics, logos, software, and data compilations — is the property of Sentinel or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Data you submit to Sentinel remains your property. You grant Sentinel a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your anonymised data for research, legal, and product improvement purposes, subject to your consent settings.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentinel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Sentinel's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Sentinel in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless local consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
